I must've missed the synchronised swimming. Was that a hidden extra on the DVD? _________________ The Forum: "It's unhealthy to do it more than occasionally." |

Spot on Go Go!
Just across the street was the swimming baths from which the lady had emerged a few seconds before. Meanwhile, the rest of the synchronised swimming team shouted out of the open window...
"Ere, Vera! You've left your swimming hat on!!"
Which is what really made her turn around and explains why she thought she'd forgotten something. It all ties up in the end perfectly. _________________ GENTLEMEN OF THE WORLD, UNITE.

We only see the 2nd contact the woman and film crew have with the girl. It's the 1st contact we don't see that's important |

The film crew pick a woman from the street, one with an eye-catching item of clothing on, and feed her some sort of subliminal message as dictated by Mr Brown. That would explain her lack of surprise when they accost her a second time. But what do they say or do to her that successfully influences her actions, and without her realising it? That's the question...

This is still bugging you, isn't it Go Go! Do you lay awake in your bed at night trying to work it out, sorry, under Derren's floorboards? Yes, that's the scratching noise he keeps hearing at night. It's not beetles. It's not mice. It's me scratching my head.

Speculation = Exposure ???
My post was deleted because of my speculation.
What is the different from “That Lady in the Red Hat was an ACTRESS!” and “He used a ….” ??? |

Because it's blatantly obvious we're just groping around in the dark, whereas you actually sound like you know what you're talking about...? _________________ The Forum: "It's unhealthy to do it more than occasionally." |

Haven't seen any of the 'trick of the mind' series yet so I can't comment much, but I have seen a few clips and would like to make these points:
The 'Oujia Doll' and the 'inducing somnia' over the phone seem more a reflection on how weak-minded some people must be than a reflection on Derren's skills. I still find it hard to believe - if it were really so easy you can imagine the Prime Ministers' protection squad having a fit.
Getting the woman to recall details of the 'mock-mugging' interests me massively. I know that if I were witness I wouldn't be able to recall a bloody thing so would be very interested to know if the details were indeed there to be recalled (they say your subconscious mind sees and retains everything and certainly dreams sometimes give some credence to this.)
Stooges - can't comment on the televised series, but at the show there was certainly one. So you are right to say that not all of what Derren tells us is to be taken at face value.
Now I'm off to try and figure out why I find his stuff so interesting, when I've found nothing remotely interesting for the last 10 years (aside that is from the voting on 'Eurovision Song Contest'.)

I did feel like writing a longer response but I was actually answering practice quantum mechanics questions, and physics is second in the list. I practice cricket once or twice a week, there are always at least one pack of cards on my desk and I pick them up and practice them whenever I get board with physics work, my guitar is currently on my bed as I practice for at least half an hour a day, I have seen so many West End shows I could not possible count the number I have been to, every day in the summer I play tennis, I can juggle knives and I am belong to a juggling society. I may not be the best in the world but please don't assume I am totally incompetent in any of them just because I choose to list everything I do. I was told that I should pursue tennis as I was the best child the coach had seen, but I do not like to compete competitively. Everything I do is for fun because, strangely, I enjoy them.
Suffice it to say I hate this thread which probably accounted for my response.
Edit: Just looked at your profile and your interests are "Fuck off T". Need I say more? _________________ "If the lead breaks, you go back to magic and learn up ways and means to vanish people - particularly mentalists!" - Corinda
