*waves a hand in front of phoenixz*

These are not the droids you're looking for.

EDIT: the nail & nose thing was the series before last wasn't it? I'm sure it's on the DVD.

Yep, it's on the 'Trick Of The Mind' DVD, isn't it?

I'd like to see him do something with nightmares personally. Maybe manipulate someones dreams to engineer some seriously twisted things...

I'm heading off into seriously dark mind-fuckery again, aren't I!

Keep going, we like the mind-f**kery

TC: Yes i have seen the nail up the nose, love that
there is a travelling freak show in america....jim rose i believe
he does some funky stuff.....

This is what we need, some serious mind....well spasm you had it correct to turn a phrase mind fu**ery

Can you minipulate dreams?
Are we talking about putting someone into a "trance like sleep" and suggesting/minipulation in this way
or
mind bending them so that when they sleep at night they dream what you wish them to dream?

Hmmm, I like the second one! I wonder if you could use suggestion to make someone dream what you want them to dream?

Or at least think they have? Wink

Me neither! How about a day where suggestions are implanted all around the person, and then he goes to sleep at night and dreams what you want to him to dream? That would be more interesting than a hypnotic sleep.

Mind you, it's not too reliable, I wouldn't have thought, and it's not much fun to watch!

*imagines some bloke just rolling around in bed groaning, and yelling 'No! He's a mindf**ker!' at odd moments*

Or just dream of a killer flowerpot! Very Happy

I was just thinking about a lucid dream I had once. In it, I suddenly realised that I was awake and could manipulate the dream in any way I wanted. I made Mike Nelson appear and asked him a question! It only lasted a few minutes before I drifted back into regular dream again, but it was a very weird feeling.

But it made me wonder, if it's possible to think you're awake when you're actually dreaming, is it possible to think you're dreaming when you're actually awake?

*strokes imaginary goatee with one eyebrow raised*

i have had lucid dreams, in fact not on the rare occasion
i suddenly realise i am asleep and can minipulate the dream
i have also thought that i have been awake when actually dreaming, this somtimes happens if i have something important the next day and i run the entire day through my mind
i once drempt that someone i knew died, woke up crying my eyes out and had to check that it wasn't true
i also find that with "lucid" dreams, if i actually wake up but am in the middle of something or having some sort of conversation or experience i can pick it up again when i come to sleep that night
it's almost like i never let the dream go through the day, like it's constantly at the back of my mind......

I'd love to have more lucid dreams, but I just can't seem to keep them going. I fall back into regular dreams again. I wonder if there's a way you can practice! Wink

no idea, they just happen
although what if you have more lucid dreams than you think and just don't remember when you wake up?

Good point, good point! I can only go by the dreams I do remember, and they're all so freaky that they couldn't possibly have been lucid at the time! Very Happy

Yes! You see? Laughing

So...how about engineering a nightmare? Making the person think that they are asleep when they're actually awake and experiencing all the horrors that you've arranged for them? Then getting them back to bed again. How would they feel when they woke up in the morning? Would they think it had all just been a regular nightmare?

You could do it with three people who've never met, and bring them all into the same nightmare. Then make sure they run across each other in the morning!

(It's a good job I don't make TV programmes, isn't it! I'd get my ass sued off!)

You could recreate places and situations the following day and make it like a bad case of deja vu.

It is a bit, isn't it? Hmmm. Maybe I should replace the nightmare stuff with just freaky, weird, dream-type stuff instead...

Imagine, though, thinking that you've had a dream in which you and two other strangers were being chased by a scary, toy-monkey-wielding magician, only to meet the two other people at breakfast and see said same toy monkey sitting in the middle of the table. That's killer déja vu!

You'd be totally thrown, wouldn't you? Especially if you then talked to the other two and found out they'd had the same dream. You'd be looking for the scary magician all day (cue numerous fleeting glimpses)...

Twisted Evil

I feel like I've sold my soul to the Devil. So many dark thoughts, and this little Sanctuary of a thread to release them in...

Oh THAT? I bought that on e-bay, i keep it in a jar marked Spasm's Soul,
Some bearded, half faun, cape wearing, parrot loving dude.....

If you can see the darkness and recognise it, your ok
It's when your lost in it and the dark thoughts outweigh the good ones, then you need to worry

Ok, over the period of two days i have now referred to him as our king and the devil, at what point should i start to worry about this?
