| Hello everyone......I'm new here (obviously) and to hopefully ensure that people are less likely to have a go at me for posting....yes, I have read all the posts and both my brain and eyes are tired....(Hence the reason that my username now reads vividpoopy instead of vividpoppy!) I am still none the wiser on the meaning of 'Nobacherie'.....however, I now have a headache and I feel that I have introduced an unneeded addiction to my life....If somebody does know...please take pity on me and take away this immense feeling of frustration.....lol....x |

Part of the answer is in the thread itself, although I can't be arsed to trawl through and look for the page numbers!
I think it was after a clue from monkeymagic, if I remember rightly... _________________

Im not sure I am satisfied that it is 'chimpanzee' as mentioned on page 51..... I had already read that on the back page of my programme, but my understanding was that Derren said there are 3 meanings, the main one being derived from the french....which chimpanzee isnt...So, even if chimpanzee is one meaning, there is a suggestion of two other meanings....and I imagine they must have a nice little interesting amusing tale of how 'nobacherie' came about.....
Personally....I think they should come clean.....ruin the enigma of this word....let us all know....give us a chance to become calm and peaceful again....then...... start a new one......lol |

Ok, I've been gripped by the need to work out the meaning of 'the word' today. So, here's what I've been thinking, in case anyone's interested,
Spaz worked it out, and what did Spaz keep talking about? The Beckhams, and Big Dave said he thought the answer would be at the end of Spaz's post about the Beckhams.
And I think the page 51, 52 thing might just be that Coops and or Big Dave told Derren it meant chimpanzee. Which brings me to where the word actually came from, did they come up with it by accident, and then think, let's use that for the credits? Or did they come up with it specifically to describe Coops' job? That has to make a big difference to what the word actually means... And if it is specific to Coops, how on earth could it have anything to do with the Beckham's?
And I think the whole Nobacherie to Nobachers thing is important, but I can't think why. And the answer isn't an acronym, but it is a phrase. How can a word be a phrase? Why would they turn a phrase into a word and then use it in TV show credits?

| I thought that it had been established that "nobacherie" is an acronym. I haven't read the entire thread, but I did read a post by Sir Big Dave that said "ten letters, ten clues" after he and Coops had given cryptic clues. I wish it was possible to go directly to particular pages of this thread, instead of having to laboriously go through them all, either from the last, or from the first page. |

I'm really sorry, Pumpkin. I should have read your post first. Thank you for being so nice. But like you I can't understand how a word can be a phrase but not an acronym.

Well a kind soul told me something which may be a version of the truth, but I don't know, there's no guarantee on any theories. I won't truly accept anything until all three of them sign a full confession written in their own blood. _________________ "Weird Head-Noddy Support Group Dial 1-800-PALSY"

I think they meant the answer is a phrase. Not the actual word. Though, still no clearer. _________________ "I'm a Thaumaturge. I turge it up Thauma style." |

After trying to figure this out for three days I'm giving up. Never gonna get it.
Well, atleast I found out that Black&Decker (Argos clue) has a factory in Croydon, Victoria in Australia, but I don't think that has anything to do with this. A bit freaky, that's all. _________________ "It's because they're stupid, that's why. That's why everybody does everything!" -Homer Simpson- |
