Considering forumite X has solved it, if none of us lesser (named) mortals get it, will dave tell us?

And give Spaz the prize for being an actual ball of burning gas in the sky? (star)

I don't have a paper copy of the Argo catalogue, so in case it isn't some funny typo or something, may be it's this moddle of hedge trimmer:

Argos wrote:
Black & Decker GT370 Hedge Trimmer.

£ 59.50

300 watts.

50cm cutting width.

20mm tooth gap.

Cable length 12m.

Two handed safety switch.

Dual action laser cut and diamond ground blades.

Two position handle.

25% more power than B & D GT350.

Two positions for greater control.

Perfect corners and added reach.

Weight 2.8kg.

etc.

I've lost the will to live.

*Bang. Head hits desk*

Spaz - you can't possibly desert this thread now ...................

Maybe he cut the tracks for the underscore? (thinking of Victoria, diamonds and affairs .....)

Shocked

No, hang on - it's not underscore, it's underCOVER ...

(p.s. I edited that word 'crap' to 'tough' in my poem ..... I was obviously feeling extremely defeatist yesterday .... apols to SBD!!! (but not too many .........?????) Smile

No, no - after winning at the fruit machine downstairs - otherwise known as a coffee machine (I put in 60 cents and got 1 euro 20 back!!! Who needs casinos, eh??) - I'm back to UNDERSCORE ... or UNDERSCORER?? (is that a word?) (just fits wonderfully with SOOOOO many clues). Now if someone could give me a little word to put in front of it and that ends in 'H', I'd be very happy!!!!!!! Laughing Laughing

Do you seriously think pootle could get on the same wavelength as a bunch of gibberish and might have last year's Argos catalogue lying around?

Ahh. See what you mean.

(Sorry pootle, love you really.)

Oh yeah I meant to say this ages ago. OI! now Purple monkey dishwasher, I do have the answer actually, so nergh.....

I can think of no other word for it. bonne bouche and the autopsy of this post. Years later, Spasm was tired, and Coops was old before his time..

We went on a Nobacherie hunt around london today did Spaz and I.

We merely solidified the Coops and Harry Hill love child theory.

Even found a sculpture of the event, that included Dave and Derren, and the birth of Tubbs. Tubbs being the love child.

Cos a love child of Coops and Harry Hill would be ugly as fuck!

See, I told you it was Pootle! At least I can deduce that! Very Happy

Yes, me and Draggy have seen the 'Lovechild' statue. It all fits!

I have no other clues, no copy of Argos catalogue you see! Mind you, if it IS to do with hedge trimmers, could the last word be 'Shears', or 'Cheers'?

I found the catalogue! I was emptying my bin at work and there it was, sitting at the bottom looking rather tatty.

The closest I could get was:

The last syllable of Nobachers sounds a little like ‘shears’.
Shears are used for cutting and trimming, hence the connection to that page in the Argos catalogue?

(This had better be worth all the funny looks I got when rooting through my bin!) Twisted Evil

Ah well that's the answer, Coops is a moss-eating lawnraker & he scarifies! Rolling Eyes

The Argos page doesn't help one bit.

Now that is just freaky!

There were loads of different models on the Internet and I pick one that is actually on page 47. Hmmmmm. Interesting.

I was going through the whole page looking for key words -

perfect - effortless - comfort - heavy duty - all year maintenance - control - handle - look after - reflex

as well as the laser cut diamond reference.

Hell, this has just made things worse!!

It's like having all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and no box lid to see the picture!!

......but I could do it then! This is more like SBD has bought half a dozen of them at a car boot and mixed them all up. We dont have any of the pictures. we dont know how many of them there were and best of all, how many pieces are missing Evil or Very Mad

PS agree with you all about it being pronounced 'shears'. That could make it 'No Bashir - ie' but likening Dez to Whacko would probably be another nail in our coffin.

Thinking along the football theme, maybe it's Shearers!

You know, I'm not sure I want to do this just for Pootle's amusement...

As the "offical" argos worker of the forum i looked it up and the normal catalogue is trimmers but the extra catalogue page 47 is silver necklaces......

Maybe 'Black And Decker' is 'bad'....

Could it be just 'Not Bad, Cheers!'

Ha ha ha - Shearers - that made me laugh out loud (people are looking at me strangely!!! - too much excitement before 9 a.m.)

Great one, Spaz.

My contribution for today is POSH UNDERSCORER - takes care of the Beckhams, man's best friend, the imminent sacrifice - in fact, all the clues!

Final answer - POSH UNDERSCORER!

(and don't tell me it doesn't make sense! You just can't possibly say that on this particular thread!!!!!)

Morning everyone, by the way *waves frantically* - Its 8.52, a grey day - definitely a trouser day (as we say in my house), and promises to be even more braindead than usual since my daughter was throwing up all night (one of those pieces of information that I'm sure you all wanted to know!!!)

I've just arrived in the office and under my mouse mat I've found a piece of paper with the words Nobacherie, Bunjee jumper, Panto Dame and Suicide Bomber written on it. Obviously, two completely different puzzles (in fact, I think the last three were from one of those 'What-job-you-should-apply-for sites ...) but the image of Coops being any of those three did make me smile ...

Laughing (off to play coffee lotto)
