Forget the straw . . . . let's just put Spaz in the barrel and let her absorb it by osmosis! _________________ "The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious,

*sobs* Don't know how much more I can take (I wish I could drink...)
We're going round in circles now! I can't think of anything that would be so simple, it's obvious, yet so complex, the finest minds of the Forum (and a few hangers-on ) cannot solve this between them!
And as for asking Sir Big Dave for help - forget it! I PMd him when we got to @ page 2 and even tried to bribe him with a promise of alcohol - but no, he wouldn't tell!
I must go to bed now - I can't be late for work! My Boss is a mean so-and-so on a good day - can you imagine what he would say if I was late and my only excuse was "I've been up all night trying to figure out what 'Nobacherie' means"?
I'll try and look in again tomorrow during lunch.....
And if you are reading this, SBD or Coops, please, for the love of all things merciful...TELL US!!!!!!!!!! (or give us better clues!) |

And it's 09.06 on Monday morning in Luxembourg and nobody else is yet in the office so ....................
Where were we?
Oh yes, gin and nobacherie.
Right! Any advances on yesterday? No? Good! I like consistency.
My first thought for today (now that IS sad!) is that nobacher means
"all-rounder" or "all-round player" - you know, the guy who does everything, including everything that everyone else hasn't done yet!!!!
Awww - a true star!
Then I also thought about an all-round production 'organiser' - taking Bach as an organist (without the tea!!!!!, but then SBD hasn't been too good at spelling, either!) + ER
At the bottom of the bottle last night I also found STAGE MANAGER but that wouldn't fit with the filming, would it?
I also wondered about Coops and Cooperates - and Coordinator - and the word Promotion ........ just can't tie any in.
Of course he'd make a marvellous secretary - note-taking (like Bach???) but you see, that's why I need to cut down on the gin. Here! Spaz! Pass me your glass!

Aha!
He's the 21st century's answer to a
BAY CITY ROLLER
Wheehee!
(oh don't ask .... just don't ask ....)
Actually, I worked out Bay City Rocker, but the image was just too much .....
Then again, if we're to believe SBD, the answer is THERE. Just that! NOBACHERIE = THERE! _________________ Coffee, chocolate, men ....... some things are just better RICH. |

Gripping his keys, Coops attempted to explain his affair and make peas (!). He realised that he would have to pay a forfeit and probably sacrifice his favourite goat(ee). Everything was going wrong, wrong, WRONG! He was even going to have to pick a new name, initially. Thoroughly despondent, he made his way to Nobacherie - or rather, that other place in Wales that elicits similar amusement, bought himself a bag of fish ´n´ chips and settled down far below his station, aware from the glare of cameras and the eyes of peeking ducks! _________________ Coffee, chocolate, men ....... some things are just better RICH. |

-hands glass over to Squawker and wrings out clothes after being in the barrell of gin-
You mean Big Dave came in and didn't even bother to leave a clue? I bet he didn't read the other pages either...

Is this a clue? It better not be, 'cause we've already thoroughly explored the 'badger' part of 'No-badger-ie' If it turns out to be 'No Badgers' I will be downing my barrel of gin (kindly donated by Hecate) instead of soaking in it... _________________

I thought it might mean he's been working with Harry Hill. Perhaps it was really an insidious clue. _________________ The best thing about being a cynic is that you are nearly always right. The worst thing is that you are nearly always right. |

If he's been poking them with spoons, it might be an Eddie Izzard reference...
Blimey, thought I'd cracked it with the Nobby Stiles reference... maybe it 'No Badges' and Coops doesn't like being labelled!

Not Waving, but Drowning
(With apologies to Stevie Smith)
Nobacherie thread, poor Spasm,
She still keeps on thinking:
She’s in much deeper than the rest,
And not solving, but frowning.
Poor lass, she always loved puzzles,
But now has the blues.
It must have been too hard for her, her brain collapsed,
From clues.
Oh, no, no, no, it was too tough always,
(More difficult than Browning).
SpasmTheCat was caught by Dave,
And not solving, but frowning. _________________ The best thing about being a cynic is that you are nearly always right. The worst thing is that you are nearly always right. |

Oh here - giv's your clothes and I'll throw them in the tumble drier while you hook up with a new straw!!!
Can't believe he didn't leave a clue and I DON'T BELIEVE the badger reference could be one.
I've come to the conclusion that if NOBACHERIE = COOPIE
then
NOBACHER = LORD COOP (IE)
Lord - you know, High-mighty (top of the London Eye) ...... Buck House (royalty .....) Could it possibly be something as simply as that? Just a title?
Nobacher = Lord
or Lord and Master ...... of all
(didn't he get the Order of the British Airways or something? seem to remember some BA thread .....)
