I wonder if it is like T Nutkins, the clapper boy who got his fingers bitten off by an angry otter!
Or the great caterer R McDonald.
It's all just one big joke! _________________ "If the lead breaks, you go back to magic and learn up ways and means to vanish people - particularly mentalists!" - Corinda

I didn't know whether I should post this, but I think I'm past caring now!
Maybe Coops came up with some effect in Séance and it was Derren's way of acknowledging him. So may be one day in a magic shop we'll see this:

My brother had a suggestion, could it be Derren's instruction to Coops to stop...er....enjoying himself so much......i.e does Nobacherie mean No-(bashing) of the bishop variety? Ok, remember this is not me it's my brother so don't kick me off...I'm sorry....*runs and hides in a corner* _________________ time is an abstract concept |

I think we should ask SBD to award the prize to "Spasm" as she has been a star to have come so close with the clues and then put us out of our misery and tell us what it means!! Maybe then, life will get back to normal!!! _________________ "For every action there is an equal and

Spasm deserves a medal for all her work on this.
I'm still convinced that it dosen't mean anything, and they are just trying to see how long they can string us along for. _________________ Derren Brown Archives at http://www.lepapillionmagique.co.uk

I particularly like "what the buggery is it" and "Nobacherie = 42??"

Ahem. Tis Spaz's writing. I have to write in capitals to make it legible.
If anyone would like a sample of my law notes to see EXACTLY what I mean, I'll happily oblige! _________________ SpasmTheCat wrote: Draggy's the technical one - that's why she's a God! ™

Sorry, Spaz you have very neat handwriting!
Draggy, maybe if yours is bad, you should think about a career as a GP?

Spaz sweetie darling, dont know about you but Ive lost track of which suggestions have already been made by you, me or others so here's tonight's pennyworth from Chez Hedge
Inspired by your ideas:
- Peter Piper ........ there were 2 Man Utd defenders known as the Ginger Ninjas apparently
- I still reckon its probably a mixture of acronym, contraction and silly spelling.
- Fascinating - didnt SBD spell it right? Synonyms could be hypnotic (ooo-er), or interesting (money references again?), entranced was good but SBD didnt pick up on that one
- Llanfair..... usually gets shortened to Llanfair P.G. If you carry this logic over to nobachers you get R.S. = Railway Station. In fact could it stand for Euston Railway Station?
- Greanne could have been a hare ("her") a buck ("bach") or a mate.
- The ch in Nobacherie could be ch, sh tch or even tj, dj e.g. as in 'bad job', 'badger'
- SBD expected us to get it as soon as we changed "ie" to "s" so that must be pretty significant. -hers, -chers, -tures -urse? he also said to concentrate on the French (loosely) so that is the importance of the 'cherie' part again.
Suggestions
"Know + back + hairs" = i.e. to know the job as well as the hairs on the back of your hands.
"no back chairs" - as in the selection procedure for RR either Coops weeds the timid types out or he isnt one himself?
"No OBEs at ER's (or at Cherie's)" as in New Years Honours lists
"No bank account or shares" (financial references) _________________ Careful with that hedge trimmer Eugene

-laughing at the 'Ginger Ninjas'!- Why didn't I think of that!
Ooh, like your ideas, Mrs Hedge!
Best I can do this morning (and look at the time!) is 'No Bleachers'. Maybe Mr. Derren has been on at Coops to dye his hair blonde or summat!
There is reasoning behind it, but not nearly enough. Just thought it'd make you all laugh thinking about a blonde Coops! Damn it, I need more coffee...
(And thank you Thistoshallpass and Papillion for your medal recommendations! Although I think I'm all out of ideas...) _________________

Hmmm, just to show how 'Nobacherie' can be fitted to just about anything, I've fitted it to me... 'Knows 'Bout Any Cheap Fares'!
Ooh wait, I know, I know!
My caffeine buzz has enabled me to work it out!
It's 'Knows 'Bout Assisting Cheesy Entertainers'.

Ha! Spaz - great! Liked your '42' best of all, though.
I can't get away from my 'key' idea. Like you say - give us a word and you can fit all the clues in ....
What about something like
Not Only Brown's Assistant But Also .... a dear friend (cher) - or something simple like that? (back-tracking here to the Through the Keyhold Idea - and doubling up as it's not really an acronym anyway)?? _________________ Coffee, chocolate, men ....... some things are just better RICH. |

May be Coops just holds the key to all Derren's secrets (as opposed to Victoria's Secrets???)
or maybe he DOES have the key to Victoria's secrets???
Maybe it's something to do with the DVDs??

Isn't that a nice idea!
-has visions of Coops waving the Tunnock's Teacake box key under a tortured Derren's nose!-
I think I still like 'Knows Bugger All. Cheers.'
or maybe 'Nother Bacardi. Cheers'! I could do with one of those right now... _________________

This morning's doodle -
Bach - Over a hundred years old = Over C = Oversee
+ ER = Overseer??
NO would have to be Number One or something like that?
That would make him Chief Overseer/Organiser ....... (or even 'key' overseer???)

Oh - doesn't that make him
Not JUST a key grip? (which keeps in my mental block about the key and the grip without being 'only' this (as PT pointed out))
Still have issues with that, though - No Key Grip, No Derren Brown DVDs = no Seance, no Messiah ........
Maybe he had to stand in for those two ... maybe he WANTED to ..... maybe ...... maybe I should just shut up!
Yep!

Ah - there we are! So Simple!
He's actually just a Norwich City Supporter (otherwise known as the Canaries ...)
*shrugs* Well? Any better offers?
My Alzheimers is NOT helping with this thread - have we been down the Derren's Chief Supporter route?
Derren's Guinea Pig? (blimey - you can just imagine having all those wacky ideas been tested again and again and again ....)
Derren's Sidekick? (well, at least there's a Beckham link in there)
On a different note - the Derren, Darren .... clue - if you choose all the incorrect letters, they spell A SEA - which could be a C (for Coops) - or carbon or diamond, or whatever ....
or it could be A SEA = AN OCEAN = A notion?? Idea?
