Still at the station - and that reference somewhere to rabbits??? Where did that come from? Anyway - rabbits live in warrens - underground. Led me to Victoria Station Underground - or

the Blue Line?? Refer to the boys in blue? Police? Security?

Then there's references to baguettes and Rebecca - Bakerloo?

foreign friend = metro, as opposed to tube = Metropolitan?

But what could underground systems have to do with Coops?

*think I'm on completely the wrong track* (har har)

Objective Productions, specialising in magic for TV, had opened up in Manchester (Objective North) - just another link to Beckham/Manchester .... to add to the general mayhem ...

Coops - 'nobacherie' for Seance and Messiah - both more 'specifically' to do with the 'psychic' side of things - any link here?

I was also thinking it referred to Coops' expertise in 'misdirection' - or lack of direction? Ask Coops to book a flight to Malaga and God knows where you might end up!!!! (sorry, Coops - coming in for character assassination here ...)

Like Beckham, he's not to hot on Geography.

So he perhaps thought Malaga was in Wales? His fish 'n' chips would be great in .........that long station name.......if he was expecting to be in Spain.

There's No bach here......

Or why couldn't he just be in charge of 'training'???

So far, Sir Big Dave seems to have confirmed the rare occasions when we (ie Spasm) has correctly solved a clue.

Carbon as diamond, Buckminster, graphite, C, element/elementary/coal, charcoal have all been mentioned, but no luck.

One thing which occurred to me, but which is very unlikely to be relevant, is that Andy Nyman's nickname is 'the Diamond'.

Andy is a friend of Derren's and has an advisory capacity on his shows (although I can't recall exactly how he is credited). He also co-directed Derren's stage show with Peter Clifford.

I already mentioned that without actually stating it so I don't think it could be that.

Chalk me up as yet another one who's starting to forget everything that's been said.

I really do think we need Dave to confirm a few things - not just whether we've got any answers to clues correct, but like Hedge says, more information about the nature of this evil word.

Time to start stating the obvious:

As none of us have found any record of it anywhere it is likely to have been made up by those in Derren's inner sanctum (settle, settle). What we need to have confirmed is:

1) Is it an anagram or acronym (think we've had confirmed that it's neither)?
2) Is it a bastardisation of another word or words (if so, how many)?
3) Is it a mispronunciation (ie an in joke none of us are going to find amusing)?

And most importantly I feel:

4) Is is meant to be a noun or a verb? Is Coops 'a Nobacherie', or is he 'in charge of Nobacherie'? Is it neither??

Also -

5) Do these clues relate specifically to the word 'Nobacherie', or are they simply clues to what Coops does?

I think we're wandering off on all kinds of odd paths here and it would be helpful (after 26 pages) to at least get the basics sorted...

I just read from page 16 through to now, and my brain hurts.

But well done Spaz! You're too good! Very Happy

Dave, can the clue be solvable today please!? Very Happy

Yeah, let's get it sorted today. I don't want to come back on Monday and find it's been solved but have to trawl back through nine pages of posts that say 'that's really disappointing' in order to find the answer.

Ah yes - Alison. Don't hold your breath! I fear SBD is now going to bow to pressure ... Confused

If it helps - the credits tend to always come in the same order at the end of the programmes - and Coops' Nobacherie is in the 'production' section - hence my meanderings along those 'lines' ...

Do you think he spends endless hours helping DB learn his lines???? Shocked
No, thought not!

Today, I'm sticking with something to do with my on-line theory, the trainee theory - or a train-er?? We could say trainee programmer, but that just wouldn't make any sense (given that everything else does?)

Nobacherie - perhaps it just means that he's gone 'off the rails'!!!

Right - back to me cleaning .... the PERFECT distraction for a horrible job

Are we back to typos?

Does coops proof read shit that people write about dez, and in the programme etc, but his spelling sucks, so it's a pointless waste of time?

That's it? Does that mean that nothing we've put in the last six pages is remotely correct?!?

That's a bit depressing, isn't it?
Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

In other words:

Nobacherie = Contribution defies explanation! (no other word for it!!)

or

No English word can describe what Coops does!

I bet Sir Big Dave hasn't even read the last six pages...

Still, his last clue makes me think that maybe 'nobacherie' is a contraction of some sort, like Notation basically cheating everyone in earnest

I think that might mean that the "no" bit means NO... the rest might be the acronym......or the cherie bit might mean cherie and the rest is the acronym.

need to think along the lines of French (loosely)

I've just been reviewing the first pages - this was SBD's first clue on page 2 and it seems to have got forgotten.

Then later on page 4, Genieb said this:
Quote:
Coops - "Why don't I ever get a mention in the TV show credits. It's not fair, all that hard work I do!"
DB - "Ok, calm down dear. You can be listed in the next special."
Coops - "Great, but 'PA to Mr Brown sounds a bit 'girly'. I want something more meaty, like 'EPPA' (Executive Producers' Personal Assistant).
DB - "That's not meaty, it sounds like a disease, but let's make up a word that doesn't actually mean anything, sounds foreign (and possibly a bit rude). Then all those sad people who record everything I do, will be sitting and wondering about it forever."
Antony Owen - "Yeah, what about 'Dankehomo'."
Coops - "No, too gay"
Andrew O'Connor - "Cherragazzo"
DB - "No, I've got it 'Nobacherie'. It's got the nob element, the french for 'darling' and even a reference to my favourite composer. That'll keep them busy for weeks."
Coops - "And it sounds cool too."

To which SBD replied:
Quote:
close but no banana!!!!

In the words of Sir David Frost...."the clues are there"

He later said that only one person had come close and I'm assuming it was Genieb.

She was thinking in terms of acronyms, too!

So it's sort of an acronym, but not?

Good, now I understand it entirely.

Not.

More attempts to review clues already given...

A little birdie tells me that Lizzy Bardsley has started to get ideas well above her station. The former Wife Swap "star" keeps on turning up for filming of ITV's Celebrity Fit Club with her very own personal assistant, Diane.

What on earth does that woman need a PA for?? To buy her tracksuits and fags? Ugh.

Mind you, if DB & Coops part company. We could always let Bardsley know about the "Nobacherie"!

SBD really likes Genieb's guesses because on page 10 he replied to this saying:

there is a huge but not too obvious clue in the last post
