If you look over Buckingham Palace from the Eye you can see the main fashion area of London, maybe a reference to Coops buying Derren's clothes for him (is this what a PA does? I don't know much about them), this also fits in with genieb's comment about Lizzy Bardsley's PA buying her tracksuits. A man's favorite foreign friend could be a foreign designer.
Also as Derren likes Sherlock Holmes it might be a quote from him, and the only one i can think of involving clothes is the one Derren uses on the mind control night link "By a man's boots, by his trouser knee, by his cuffs, by his coat-tails, by all of these things a man's calling is plainly revealed", with the quote reworked to fit Coops job description, i.e. Derren's clothes reveal Coops choices not his own.
Some of the clues could be interpreted to fit this : the carbon one could be element, as in "elementary"- Sherlock Holmes quote. The Concord could be a link to the word "plainly" in the quote, or maybe I'm just too fond of puns. Or maybe I'm thinking far too laterally and should just go to bed...
Very inventive explanation anyway, if probably wrong and deranged. |

Let's face it - fun though it is to speculate, it could mean absolutely anything. It strikes me that this is almost a type of cold-reading; we're thinking of things and then trying to fit the clues to them! _________________

Okay, here's a shot in the dark (I know SBD said not to get hung up on spelling etc, but what the heck!)
If you rearrange the letters in Nobacherie, you can make Cherabino. Cherabino (or Cherubino in some translations) was a character in the opera 'Le Nozze Di Figaro' (The Marriage of Figaro - geddit?) and the character is described as the Count's 'young page'.
Genieb's post - the one SBD said was close - does have references to 'cherragazzo' in it (which is similar), and 'cher' could be what SBD meant by thinking loosely along the lines of French.
The HUGE clue in genieb's 'Lizzie' post could be the 'little birdie' bit - i.e Figaro!
There's also a statue of Eros (cherub, kind of?) in Piccadilly Circus, but I'm not sure you can see it from the London Eye! However, the main train station in Manchester is also called Piccadilly, and that's nowt to do with the scouse!
(Yep, I know there's an erroneous 'e'. Maybe it was stuck on the end to make a better ending for the word!)
Is this any good?
(Blimey, I've edited the crap out of this!) _________________

"Cherie" is French for "Dear". Noba sounds a bit like Nova (as in Vauxhall Nova). So maybe it refers to an ill-fated sight-seeing trip in the Canadian Rockies in which Coops accidentally mowed down a proud young stag in its prime. And then had to hide it under a bush. And Derren uses this knowledge to blackmail him by threatening to shop him to the RSPCA so he accepts ludicrously low wages and poor treatment without complaint. _________________ The Forum: "It's unhealthy to do it more than occasionally." |

Sixteen pages.
Sixteen pages.
I can't believe we're pandering to this. What a bunch of masochists we are.

Ah well. Gives me more time to make these bloody clues fit. Anyone think 'Cher' is a man's favourite foreign friend?
Incidentally, 'Cherubino' was my first-ever username in here... _________________

Methinks that the Reverend and possibly the Knight of the Forum may be otherwise distracted today and definitely tonight.
Otherwise, DB may trip over his shoelaces on stage at the "Comic Aid" gig tonight. (Unless of course, he can manage to tie them himself.) _________________ Definitely not a piss-taker at all. No way Jose. Never, not on your Nelly! |
