This looked fun so I though I'd have a go.

Right here comes my theory,

Nobacherie = A Good Cherry.

And how did I get to this convoluted idea? Big Dave pointed out that it's origins are french. There are no proper french words that match it (apart from bacheire). However people also use slang words in france which involves taking a word spliting it roughly into two, turning these two elements around , putting them back together et voila french slang word

example sortir (to go out) turns into tisor (the slang)

On this very tenous link I tried the same thing on Nobacherie but left the cherie as it was coz everyone knows it means cherry in English.

However and bear with me Noba turns into Abon, now this is either a place or a name in france but that didn't seem right so plit the Abon into A Bon, you have 'a good/ nice'

So Nobacherie is when DB asks Coops to fetch him a big pot of cherries so he can suck the pips out.

I HAVE to correct you on this (being the French smartarse of the forum and all), but the 'verlan' for 'sortir' is 'tirsor', not 'tisor' ;p

I like your theory...

I'm curious - how come Coops got his Nobacherie credit at the end of Séance, but the actress who played Jane wasn't even given a mention?

Maybe she's a member of the production crew or something?

Ermmm... Not to get caught up in all of this silliness but... Isn't cerise the french translation for cherry?

Good point so Cherie means dear.

Does that mean that coops officially takes care of the old dears on Derrens behalf? Shocked Job dedication gone to far.

Yes... dear, sweetheart, precious, honey, beloved... those sorts of terms of endearment.

But in the feminine form. Chéri is the male form.

Can anyone recall the first time the term Nobacherie was used? - it wasn't, for example, used in the programme for last year's tour. Was it for RRR? Maybe the clue is in the timing.....

I think it was the credits for 'Seance'.

I think Coops and Big Dave are lying to us.
Liar Liar

It either means nothing OR it could be something to do with Coops' mood, sometimes he's a dear Angel ...

...and sometimes he's a 'knob' Evil or Very Mad

No? Ok then i'll leave now Very Happy
